PIPES VI: SAPPMA will be hosting our sixth annual conference on Tuesday, 18 September 2012 at the Bytes Conference Centre in Midrand. This year’s Pipes VI will focus on the importance of pipes in water distribution; and will attempt to help design engineers and specifiers to make and informed decision when selecting material and products. Dr. Anthony Turton, an independent consultant and previously associated with the CSIR and the University of the Orange Free State, has been invited as keynote speaker. Dr Turton specialises in Trans-Boundary Water Resource Management including the support to negotiations between governments and other role-players in international river basins. He has published widely on the subject of trans-boundary river basin management. Currently he is focussing on water and the mining industry as ‘a sub-national trans-boundary issue of strategic significance’, in a water-constrained region with a strong mining economy.
Individuals interested in presenting papers at the conference are invited to submit their particulars and abstracts to Louise Muller at firstname.lastname@example.org before 30 June.
Early bird offer to delegates: R750.00 for SAPPMA members and R1 500.00 for non-members for all bookings and payments made before 31 July.
